Prague, April 29, 2003

Dear authors of the session papers, posters, workshop contributions,

Please read this message carefully, it brings some important information about the scientific programme and for the presentation of the papers and posters.

We are pleased to inform you that the preliminary detailed scientific programme will be displayed on the Congress web page (www.cil17.org) before the end of April. We hope that your paper is correctly quoted; the titles of the papers are given in the form we have received from the topic/workshop organizers; when preparing the final version of the programme we will check carefully whether these titles are identical to the titles of your abstracts and in case there are some differences, the final programme will include the titles from the abstracts.

As you see from the programme, the session papers have 30-minute slots each, with 20 minutes reserved for presentation and the rest for discussion; the chairpersons of the sessions will be asked to reserve three minutes at the end of each slot for those who want to change the rooms.

All the lecture rooms will be equipped with overhead projectors and flip charts. If you have some specific requirements for other kind of equipment, please specify them by the RETURN OF MAIL. We are prepared to do all we can to meet your wishes. If you want to use handouts, please bring the copies with you; we cannot provide for copying service in the Congress Center. There are, of course, many shops in the city where you can arrange for copying.

The authors of posters will have at their disposal panels with the active area of 97 cm (width) x 197 cm (height). The poster sessions are organized in groupings A, B and C according to their related topic areas (for the concrete assignments, see the detailed programme on the web), on Monday morning and afternoon and Tuesday morning, respectively, i.e. each poster will be displayed for a half-day. The authors of the posters are expected to be present at their poster at least at the first half of their time slot and during the respective coffee break.

An important note about the preparation and publication of FULL VERSIONS of the papers/workshop contributions/poster descriptions: The full versions will be published in the form of a CD-ROM after the Congress. Those who will prepay the CD ROM (with the postage) at the registration desk, will receive it by mail (hopefully before the end of October this year). The price of the CD ROM will not exceed 7 euro.

The full versions should be handed in (preferably by e-mail, before the Congress, or at the latest on a diskette at the registration desk) exclusively in the PS or PDF format. The size of the file should not exceed 1 MB.

And last but not least: we have found out that some authors have not yet registered for the Congress. Please, register and pay your registration fee as soon as possible; only those who will be registered can present their papers (and papers have to be presented by one of the authors, not by anybody else). Also, remember that Prague is a touristic center and it is recommendable to reserve accommodation well in advance.

We hope that this message brings a useful information for you and we are looking forward to meeting you in Prague. We hope that with your kind help it would be possible to create a scientifically simulative and personally nice and friendly atmosphere during your stay.

With best wishes

Prof. Eva Hajicova
Chair of the Local Organization Committee
